Angler Doodle

Tattoo idea for a friend. Oh, you know how I love drawing angler fish. I'm going to do a painting of this in gouache, koi tattoo style.

I think I'm going to have to make a last minute change in my costume for Comic Con this weekend. Still going to be Doctor Who themed, but probably made of cardboard and tin foil... We'll see how this works out! Cross your fingers for me ;)

In case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of in love with anglerfish and Alex has a thing for octopi. This pretty much sums up our friendship. Octa is obviously providing Angler with a comfy place to rest, while Angler is Octa's booklight.

Alis Volat Propriis - "She flies with her own wings."

I stamped this latin phrase on a silhouette of a dragonfly wing that I cut out of sterling silver and made it into a pendant. It looked more like a blob, or part of the silhouette of Florida. Hah! Oh well... one for the scrap pile!

Yup, this is all I have for tonight. I'll have to post a picture of the view from my office window of the superdome. Well, not MY office, the office next to my cubicle, but anyway, our building is right across the street from the superdome. I also made a superdome pendant with "Who Dat Nation" stamped on it. I'll post a picture of that soon, too.

Speaking of NOLA themed stuff I need to post, I did a pretty sweet logo for something at work with the New Orleans cityscape and I'm waiting for the trademark to be processed before I post it. And, go figure, it started off as a doodle on a post-it.

I'm going to try to convince my coworkers that Alex and I are the same person since we haven't been here at the same time at all since she started on Monday.

I've decided to do something different for my costume for Comic Con just so I don't have to sew a dress. This costume involves prosthetic teeth, a nightgown, and hairspray. You win cool points if you see my costume and know who/what I am!

Drawing hands is absolutely horrible. I have to force myself to draw hands once in a while just so it doesn't totally terrify me.

I took an awesome nap when I got home. Now I'm up all night. Awesome. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't fall asleep in this class today.

My bestie, Alex, is starting her first day at her 3rd job today, which just happens to be in my office. Unfortunately, I won't be there today or tomorrow because I'll be taking an insurance prelicensing course at the time. She should find this note on her desk via post-it note in a few hours.
